Living the Quarantine Life

It is normal to feel anxiety and stress during a pandemic but its is important to take care of your emotional, physical, and mental health. Here are some self-care tips that you can do to help you survive the quarantine life:

  1. Take care of your body. Ensure that you are practicing social distancing and washing your hands. Eat healthy meals, exercise regularly, and get plenty of sleep. Avoid any alcohol and drugs and ensure that you continue any treatment that helps you to maintain your disability.

  2. Connect with others. Maintain healthy relationships and stay connected with family and friends. Share your feelings and emotions with people you care about. Technology is great to stay connected.

  3. Stay informed but avoid too much exposure to news. Watch the new to get updates from your officials. Ensure your sources of information are reliable and avoid getting confuse with rumors. Take breaks watching the news. Hearing negative news repeatedly can affect your emotional health.

  4. Do something creative. It is known the creativity reduces anxiety, stress, and can boost our mental health. Try a new hobby like painting, drawing, or do arts & crafts. You can also read a book or start a gratitude journal.

  5. Seek help if needed. If anxiety and stress is affecting your daily life activities for several weeks or days, talk to a counselor, doctor, or case manager or call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255.
